Meghan Markle accepted pair of £1990 diamond earrings from Dragons' Den hopefuls - after Prince Harry revealed the Duchess 'kept free gifts but shared them out' in Kensington Palace

Meghan Markle accepted £1990 worth of diamond earrings from a female-founded jewellery business, the owners have revealed. Meghan Markle accepted diamond earrings from Kimai when she was still a working member of the Royal Family in 2019. She wore these earrings during a visit to the charity Smart Works' headquarters in London.

Prince Harry's memoir revealed that Meghan would keep freebies sent to her at Kensington Palace and distribute them among her staff, which was a departure from the usual practice of the Royal Family, which typically sends back unsolicited gifts.

According to Kimai's founders Sidney Neuhaus and Jessica Warch, Meghan Markle's endorsement played a crucial role in boosting their business shortly after they launched it. They appeared on the television show Dragons' Den seeking a £250,000 investment for a three percent equity stake in their business.

Their success story indicates that Meghan Markle's choice to wear their pieces led to a substantial increase in revenue for Kimai and allowed them to secure a significant investment of $1.2 million. This celebrity endorsement and its positive effect on the business's growth showcase the power of influencer marketing and the impact that high-profile individuals can have on brand recognition and success.

Kimai's founders managed to secure an investment from Steven Bartlett on Dragons' Den. They revealed that they reached out to Meghan Markle through cold emails, and this approach ultimately led to her wearing their jewelry. Steven Bartlett was convinced to invest in their business upon learning about their efforts to get Meghan Markle to wear their designs.

This article also touches upon Meghan Markle's acceptance of free gifts before stepping down as a royal, as mentioned in Prince Harry's memoir. It appears that she shared these gifts with the women in her office, but this practice reportedly caused some issues, as one assistant was allegedly asked to resign by Palace HR due to trading on her position to obtain freebies. These details provide further context regarding Meghan Markle's interactions and activities during her time as a working member of the Royal Family.

The Princess of Wales, like other prominent figures in the Royal Family, have a significant influence on fashion trends. Dresses she wears often sell out quickly, emphasizing her impact on the fashion industry.

To avoid the appearance of being commercial enterprises or receiving special treatment, members of the Royal Family typically pay for their own clothes.

Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare," includes his perspective on Meghan Markle's interactions with the Princess of Wales regarding fashion. He suggests that there might have been misunderstandings between them, with Meghan possibly being perceived as wanting to use the Princess of Wales' fashion contacts.

Tensions reportedly grew when Meghan found herself behind the Princess of Wales in the queue for designer Erdem Moralıoğlu's creations. Meghan had a preference for Erdem's designs even before her royal life, and it seems that the Princess of Wales was given priority due to her existing relationship with the designer.

Meghan Markle wore an Erdem dress from the 2015 collection in early 2016, even before she had met Prince Harry. This dress choice was notable because it was not yet available to the general public.

The preference given to Princess Catherine for Erdem's designs seems to have caused some frustration within the Sussexes, with Meghan reportedly expressing her discontent and commenting that Kate "wasn't even Queen."

This dress-related saga adds to previous alleged disagreements between Meghan and Kate, including disputes over bridesmaid dresses for Harry and Meghan's wedding and reported awkward interactions during the Sussexes' early meetings with the Cambridges.
