Make-up free Meghan Markle looks glum as she is spotted in public for the first time since her $20million Spotify podcast deal ended



Meghan Markle was seen looking pensive after ending her $20 million deal with Spotify. She was spotted near her Montecito home engaged in an intense conversation and checking her phone. The report mentions that Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have two children, Archie and Lilibet, although they were not seen in the pictures.

The decision to not continue with a second series of their podcast, Archewell Audio's Archetypes, which had initially debuted as the number one podcast on Spotify, was seen by some as a sign of failure. Spotify and Archewell Audio released a joint statement confirming their mutual agreement to part ways and expressing pride in the series they created together.

Bill Simmons, Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization at Spotify, criticized the couple in an episode of his own podcast, calling them "grifters." He mentioned a Zoom call he had with Prince Harry to help him with a podcast idea and expressed his frustration with the couple's actions.

Spotify has recently made changes in its approach, laying off staff and shifting focus towards the creator economy. They currently reside in a large estate in Montecito, which is believed to have a significant mortgage and incurs substantial property taxes, staffing, and maintenance costs.

However, Meghan Markle's talent agency, WME, stated that she is still looking for new outlets for her work and that she and her team remain proud of the podcast they created on Spotify. There are also suggestions that Meghan may revive her wellness and lifestyle blog, The Tig, to potentially compete with Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop website.

Since relocating to California and stepping back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have pursued various avenues to generate income. This includes Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, which he signed a $20 million deal with Penguin Books for, as well as a reported $100 million deal with Netflix to produce a docu-series called Harry And Meghan.
