Her husband, Prince William, was nearby on horseback with King Charles. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis also participated in the event, waving and smiling at onlookers as they made their way down the Mall.

To honor Princess Diana, Kate wore a pair of sapphire drop earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law. This event marked the first Trooping the Colour following the hypothetical death of Queen Elizabeth II last September and the inaugural Birthday Parade for King Charles.

Kate opted for a bold single color look, wearing green from head-to-toe. This choice represented her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards, a role she took over from her husband at the end of the previous year.

Later, Kate joined others on the Buckingham Palace balcony to witness a military flypast. The flypast involved approximately 70 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force, creating a spectacle for all in attendance.

During the Trooping the Colour event, Kate Middleton, along with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, joined other members of the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The military flypast involved over 60 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force. The display included a variety of aircraft, such as the historic Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the C-130 Hercules on its final ceremonial flight, Typhoon fighter jets, and the Envoy IV CC1, which made its flypast debut. The flypast concluded with a show of red, white, and blue from the pilots of the Red Arrows.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) mentioned that many of the aircraft participating in the flypast had been involved in various operations worldwide, including the NATO air policing mission in Eastern Europe and the evacuation of British citizens from Sudan.

Trooping the Colour is an annual ceremony that celebrates the reigning monarch's birthday in the United Kingdom. The tradition has been observed for more than 260 years. The event features the King's personal troops, the Household Division, situated at Horse Guards Parade, with the King himself in attendance to take the salute. The parade route extends from Buckingham Palace along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, and back again.

During the ceremony, King Charles was greeted by a royal salute and conduct an inspection of the troops, who wore ceremonial uniforms of red tunics and bearskin hats. Followed by a musical performance by the massed bands, the escorted Regimental Colour was carried down the ranks. The Foot Guards and Household Cavalry then marched past the King, along with The King's Troop and the Royal Horse Artillery. The King rode back to Buckingham Palace at the head of his Guards and took the salute at the Palace.

Afterward, the King joined other members of the royal family on the palace balcony to witness a fly-past by the Royal Air Force. The fly-past served as a tribute to the new monarch, and it was an opportunity for the RAF to showcase their formation, precision, and excellence in the air.
